Dictionary entry for the Danish word bevis

In Danish, a certificate and a proof are the same word

When you finish a course in Denmark, you get a bevis. When you settle an argument, you show a bevis.

We think a certificate should work as proof that anyone can check. Every certificate from Beviset has a unique ID and a public verification page, reached through a link or a QR code, that shows who issued it and whether it is still valid.

Pronounced roughly beh-VEE-seth.

For organisations that run courses

When a course ends, the participant needs to be able to show the certificate, and whoever asks needs to be able to check it.

A trainer presents at a large screen to a class of participants sitting with laptops.
  • Course providers and trainers

Issue certificates to the whole class in the admin area, for example from a CSV file. Beviset emails them to the participants and makes the files and the verification page.

  • Learning platforms and systems

Scan the QR code on the certificate or type the address below the certificate ID. The page shows who issued it and whether it is valid.

    How to check a certificate

Issue a certificate and see it from three angles

Enter a name and a course, and press Issue certificate. Then switch between the certificate, what the recipient gets and the verification page, and see what happens if the certificate expires or is revoked.

The example does not create a real certificate.

1. Enter recipient and course
2. Choose an issuer

The issuers are examples, each with its own design.

A certificate can have an expiry date

Training that has to be repeated can get an end date, for example first aid every two years. After that date the verification still shows that the certificate is authentic, and also that it has expired.

Detail of the certificate: Udstedt den 1. januar 2026 · Gyldigt til 31. december 2027 (issued and valid until, in Danish).

Issued 1 January 2026 In the admin area or through the API. The ID, the address and the QR code are ready at once.

Any time during the period If a certificate was issued by mistake, you can revoke it and reactivate it later.

Valid until 31 December 2027 If the training has to be repeated, you issue a new certificate with a new period and a new ID.

If you change the design later, certificates already issued keep the look they were issued with. See how a certificate is built

AI Act Manager issues its course certificates with Beviset

When a participant completes a course in AI Act Manager, they get a certificate with its own ID and QR code. Anyone can open it on beviset.com and see who issued it and whether it is still valid. It is the certificate at the top of this page.

You can use Beviset the same way, directly in the admin area or built into your own system. Courses and sign-ups stay in the systems you already use. Data is separated per organisation, and API access is limited to the permissions it needs.

What is Beviset?

Beviset is a platform for issuing and verifying digital certificates. You can issue in the admin area or let another system send the details through the API. The recipient can download and share the certificate, and others can check it through a public link or a QR code.

Do we need to be technical to use Beviset?

No. You can issue certificates in the admin area without writing code. If you want your learning platform or HR system to issue certificates automatically, you can use the API. It is included in Standard and Platform.

Can the certificates use our own design?

Yes. In the branding editor you adjust logo, colours, typography and signatures yourself and see the result as you work. If you would like help setting up the template, write to us.

Does Beviset send emails to recipients?

Yes. Beviset can email the certificate to the recipient. You can also share the link yourselves or let your own system send it.

Can the certificates still be verified if we cancel?

Yes. Certificates that have already been issued can still be verified after you cancel, so recipients can keep sharing their links. The verification page still shows the current status, including whether a certificate has expired or been revoked.
